영작연습 프로젝트 Day 86 He was telling me about his job, and he pulled someone over

 Gen Z 세대는 경찰이 되면 안 된다는 생각이 들어요. 제 친구가 최근 경찰이 됐는데, 그 얘기를 듣고 나서부터 미래가 두렵습니다. 친구가 자기 일에 대해 말하면서 "어떤 사람을 세웠는데 그가 진짜 수상쩍게 행동해서 티켓을 끊어줬다"고 했어요.

I think Gen Z shouldn't become police. My friend recently became(과거) a police officer(수일치), once I heard his story, I've started to feel afraid for the future. He talked about his work and said "I made someone stopped and gave the driver ticket because his behavior was sus."

He was telling me about his job, and he said, "Yeah, I pulled this guy over, and he was acting hella sus, so I gave him a ticket."

1. pull over 갓길에 대다, 정차하게 하다.

2. afraid of/ terrified of 구체적 대상에 대한 두려움. for the future 추상적임. 미래에 대한 걱정

우선, 경찰이 운전자에게 "수상해(sus)"라는 말을 했다는 게 믿기 어렵습니다. 여기 Among Us 게임도 아니잖아요. 그런데 더 심각한 이야기가 나왔습니다. 친구가 그 운전자에게 면허증을 요구했는데, 그 면허증을 받는 순간 웃음을 참지 못했다고 하더라고요. 왜 그러냐고 물어보니, 운전자의 이름이 바솔로뮤(Bartholomew)였다고 했습니다. 경찰이 되면 사람의 이름을 보고 웃는 건 안 된다고 말했죠. 그럼 이제 내가 만약 경찰에 잡히면, 벌금뿐만 아니라 경찰에게 놀림받을 걱정도 해야 한다는 겁니까?

First of all, I cannot believe that a police officer used the word "sus" to describe a driver. This isn't a game of Among Us! But it gets even worse. My friend asked the driver for their license and as soon as he received it, he couldn't(시제) help but laugh. When I asked him why, he said it was because the driver's name was(시제) Bartholomew. So I told him you should not laugh at someone's name as a police officer. So now, if I ever get pulled over, do I have to worry about being teased by the police on top of getting a ticket?

영상 스크립트: First of all, did you just call a person you pulled over "sus"? Dog, this is not Among Us. But it gets worse. He asked the person he pulled over for their license, and right when they gave it to him, he accidentally laughed. I asked him why, and he said it was because the name on the license was Bartholomew. I told him, "Bro, you can't laugh at someone's name when you're a cop." Now, from this moment on, if I ever get pulled over, I have to worry about getting a ticket and getting roasted by the cop. We are so doomed.

be concerned: 이성적/공식적 염려. 공적인 맥락. 장기적.  "경제 악화를 우려하고 있습니다"

3. 젊은이들이 캐주얼하게 쓰는 놀림받다, 망신당하다 get roasted 

4. doomed 불행, 파멸, 피할 수 없는 나쁜 운명.

We are so doomed 우리 개망했어! 미래에 대한 절망적인 감정을 표현하는 캐주얼한 문장. 좀 과장된 느낌이 있다. 실제로 망했다기 보다는 상황이 심각하다고 느끼는 순간적인 감정을. "X됐다!"
